The Mart Aviation MK. 4A Story   -   HOW WE DO IT

Mart Aviation Mk. 4A Flight Helmets are totally reconditioned using all original replacement parts, these photos will give you some idea of the many hours of top quality work and expertise that goes into the Mart Aviation 4A Flight Helmet. We take the selected serviceable Mk.4A helmets and add that little bit of  Extra Special care and attention to detail to ensure that the finish on our  FULLY reconditioned MK.4A helmet is superior to any standard helmet service, military or otherwise.

The 4A Flight Helmet  is completely stripped of all removable parts and components, the helmet shell outer has the old reflective tape and velcro removed, the helmet shell is minutely checked for damage and all minor cosmetic scratches are repaired and the helmet shell inner is cleaned and painted. We have high standards and Do Not repair or recondition damaged helmets, any such helmets are discarded as unsuitable.

The helmet shell is then paint sprayed with two coats of High Etch Primer and two coats of  either GREEN or GREY Matt Acrylic finish paint. The edge trim is reconditioned and re-stitched where necessary, reflective tape added if required. 

STOP PRESS...  For enhanced durability all our future Recon. helmets will now be paint sprayed in our NEW specification Acrylic Fine TEXTURED  finish.

The adjustable harness system, earcup tensioners and padded leather liners are replaced  

Internal / external fittings including the harness system, chinstrap and all adjusters, visor mounts etc. are installed, parts replaced where necessary.

Avionics are serviced and fitted with replacement downlead, speakers and wiring loom. 

Avionics , Oxy - Mask hooks & new leather faced 2-piece padded liner are installed 

New clear and tinted visors and mounting blocks are fitted making up the 36-piece locking visor system,

 Complete with New cloth visor cover or fitted Rigid Visor Cover.

Final assembly completed !      

As you can see from the above our MK.4A helmets have a complete and in depth refit and come complete with cloth Helmet Bag. These MK. 4A Helmets are Top Quality and reconditioned to military specification, fully bench tested & working and like all our FULLY reconditioned Flying Helmets are covered by our comprehensive M.A. Warranty. We believe our Fully Reconditioned 4A Flying Helmets are the best available, unless of course you know different?
